Challenging Alfheim's Bosses and Acquiring Relics
To challenge powerful bosses and acquire legendary relics from Alfheim, you must first establish a connection to that world. Elves once shared our world but were banished to Alfheim. Experiments have led to a theoretical procedure for creating a portal to their realm.
Constructing the Alfheim Portal
Creating the portal is a demanding task, requiring specific resources. You will need 8
Livingwood blocks, 3
Glimmering Livingwood blocks, an
Elven Gateway Core, and at least 2 Mana Pools with Natura Pylons directly above them. The
Livingwood blocks can be any variant, such as logs or wood, stripped or unstripped.
The portal's structure requires the
Elven Gateway Core to be at the center of an 11x11x11 area. Within this area, at least two Mana Pools must have Natura Pylons positioned directly above them.
To activate the portal for the first time, right-click the
Elven Gateway Core with a
Wand of the Forest. This activation consumes a significant amount of Mana from all nearby Mana Pools with Natura Pylons. The portal draws Mana equally from these pools; if any pool runs out, the connection will close.
Even with these preparations, the portal's link remains too weak for living beings to travel through. However, items can pass between worlds. Returning items require Mana from the surrounding Mana Pools to survive the trip back.
The Ritual of Gaia
The Ritual of Gaia is an elven trial that yields Gaia Spirits, fragments of the Goddess Gaia's power. This ritual acts as an altar, requiring an active Beacon surrounded by Gaia Pylons. A single
Terrasteel Ingot is also needed as a sacrifice.
To begin the ritual, sneak-right click the Beacon with the
Terrasteel Ingot. Then, step back and prepare for battle against the Guardian of Gaia. This fight can be more difficult than facing the Wither, so extensive preparation is essential. The Beacon's effect is nullified during the battle.
Standard equipment for this ritual includes a set of enchanted Elementium Armor, a
Terra Blade, and various Brews and Trinkets. The Guardian possesses a large health pool, making enchantments and brews crucial for success. Upon defeating the Guardian, you will receive a handful of Gaia Spirits.
The difficulty and rewards of the ritual scale with the number of participants. However, performing the ritual with more than five people nearby can lead to chaotic and disastrous results, so such large-scale attempts are not recommended. During the fight, it is advisable to avoid any purple areas.
The Hardmode Gaia Guardian
Combining Terrasteel and Gaia Spirits creates a
Gaia Spirit Ingot. While this alloy is generally useless on its own, it can be sacrificed to a Beacon to summon an even stronger Gaia Guardian. This enhanced Guardian possesses greater strength, speed, and resistance.
Defeating this more powerful Guardian yields many more Gaia Spirits, along with a selection of rare treasures and goodies, making it a worthwhile challenge.
Acquiring Relics
Relics are powerful items that are materialized from rolls of the
Dice of Fate. Legends suggest there are six such relics. Relics are attuned to the person who earned them. Giving a Relic to someone who did not earn it is not advised. The same Relic cannot be awarded to the same person twice, so safeguarding an earned Relic is important;
Resolute Ivy may be a good investment.
An earned Relic will automatically transcribe knowledge of its use into your lexicon.
