Hopper Gadgetry: Item Movement and Crafting Guide
Hopper Gadgetry introduces new methods for moving items, including filters, pipes, and wooden components. This guide covers basic item transport and crafting.
Item Transport Components
Duct
The 
Duct is a wooden pipe designed for item movement. It sends items into connected containers but does not pull items out of them. It does not interact with items dropped on the ground. Ducts can be connected in chains and function in any direction, including upwards.
Chute
The 
Chute is a basic wooden item transfer component. It collects items exclusively from the ground. A Chute does not store items; instead, it immediately passes them downwards to a container below. It only transfers items in a downward direction.
Grated Hopper
The 
Grated Hopper functions similarly to a standard hopper but includes filtering capabilities. It allows you to define up to five filter slots to control which items it accepts. If no filters are set, it operates as a regular hopper. Visually, it features iron bars on its top surface.
Minecart Variants
Hopper Gadgetry also provides specialized minecart versions of its components for mobile item transport.
Chute Minecart
The 
Chute Minecart travels along rails, picking up items from the ground and directly transferring them to any container positioned beneath it. This makes it useful for automated cleanup tasks.
Grated Hopper Minecart
The 
Grated Hopper Minecart combines the filtering abilities of the Grated Hopper with the mobility of a minecart. It can filter items while moving on rails.
Crafting Recipes
Hopper Gadgetry adds several new crafting recipes.
Duct Crafting
To craft a Duct, combine two Oak Planks and one Iron Ingot.
Chute Crafting
A Chute is crafted using five Oak Planks and one Dark Oak Log.
Grated Hopper Crafting
There are two ways to craft a Grated Hopper:
- Combine five Iron Ingot, one Iron Bars, and one Chest.
- Combine one Iron Bars and one Hopper.
Minecart Crafting
To create the specialized minecart versions:
- Craft a Chute Minecart by combining one Chute and one Minecart.
- Craft a Grated Hopper Minecart by combining one Grated Hopper and one Minecart.
